Halima has been a journalist since she was 16 years old, starting in local radio in the San Francisco Bay Area as a youth correspondent for the Afghan American community. Since then she produced and written hundreds of news reports in the Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, San Francisco Chronicle, PRI-The World and other publications. Her academic career is deeply rooted in the more than 30 years of work as a journalist. These are just some of her bylines.
